American aircraft giant Boeing will spend billions of dollars in the next 30 years on direct purchases in Russia, President of Boeing in Russia and the CIS Sergey Kravchenko told TASS.

At the moment, the company buys most of its titanium products from Russia’s VSMPO-Avisma, which is the world’s largest producer of titanium and titanium parts. The contract expires in 2022.

Russia overtakes China in gold reserves race to end US dollar dominance

Written by Tony Harkén on söndag, 15 juli 2018. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Main 3, Right bottom - 8st

The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) boosted its holdings of gold by almost 20 metric tons last month, with reserves reaching 1,857 tons. It has increased its holdings every month since March 2015.

Russia is now among the top five gold holders after surpassing China, which reportedly holds 1,843 tons. Over the last 15 years, Moscow and Beijing have been aggressively accumulating gold reserves to cut their dependence on the US dollar.

“Interestingly, both Russia and China publicize and promote their accumulations of gold and publicly refer to gold as a strategic monetary asset. They make no secret of this. But on the flipside, the US does the opposite, and constantly downplays the strategic role of gold,” Singapore’s BullionStar precious metals expert Ronan Manly told RT in December.

Russia will launch ‘alternative internet’ only in worst-case scenario – Foreign Ministry

Written by Tony Harkén on onsdag, 04 juli 2018. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Main 2, Right bottom - 8st

A senior Russian diplomat has told reporters that the country has everything to launch its own independent internet, but added that this would be done only if things go completely sour due to the efforts of “Western partners”.

There are technical, financial, intellectual and all the rest necessary resources for this, but I don’t think that anyone really wants this,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department for New Challenges and Threats, Ilya Rogachev, said in comments with TASS.

The primary thing that could lead to such outcome is the policy of our Western partners, in particular the imposing of double standards. If they continue to impose double standards then we can start talking about creating a parallel internet in Russia, as a sort of a worst-case scenario,” the diplomat added.

Who’s afraid of a Trump-Putin summit? - by Stephen Cohen

Written by Tony Harkén on fredag, 29 juni 2018. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Left 1, Left 2 - 3st

If it actually occurs, never in the 75-year history of such US-Russian meetings will an American president have had so much opposition and so little support at home.

Discussing the apparent decision to hold a prepared Trump-Putin meeting in July, Cohen points out there have been dozens of such US-Soviet/Russian top leadership events since the precedent was set by FDR [Franklin D. Roosevelt] and Stalin in 1943, during World War II.

That was a meeting of allies, and included Winston Churchill. After the war, all the rest have been between the two Cold War “superpower” rivals or purportedly post–Cold War leaders. Every American president after FDR participated in at least one summit with his Soviet or Russian counterpart, and some presidents in multiple ones, including Eisenhower with Khrushchev, Reagan and George H.W. Bush with Gorbachev, and Clinton with Yeltsin.

Central banks manipulating & suppressing gold prices

Written by Tony Harkén on måndag, 19 mars 2018. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Left 1, Left 2 - 3st

Gold price suppression by the world's central banks is a well-documented fact, according to Singapore’s BullionStar precious metals expert Ronan Manly. He explained to RT.com why that’s the case.

Central banks have a long and colorful history of manipulating the gold price. This manipulation has taken many shapes and forms over the years. It also shouldn't be surprising that central banks intervene in the gold market given that they also intervene in all other financial markets. It would be naive to think that the gold market should be any different.

The Fund will attract leading Russian companies to invest in the creation of the city of Neom, thereby contributing to their high-tech expansion in the promising markets of Saudi Arabia and the entire Middle East," RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev told reporters on Thursday.

"We are talking about investments worth several billion dollars," he said. The day before, Dmitriev met the Saudi crown prince to discuss further investment cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Putin orders to end trade in US dollars at Russian seaports

Written by Tony Harkén on onsdag, 20 september 2017. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Left 1, Left 2 - 3st

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to approve legislation making the ruble the main currency of exchange at all Russian seaports by next year, according to the Kremlin website.

To protect the interests of stevedoring companies with foreign currency obligations, the government was instructed to set a transition period before switching to ruble settlements.

According to the head of Russian antitrust watchdog FAS Igor Artemyev, many services in Russian seaports are still priced in US dollars, even though such ports are state-owned.

Kvinnor i företagsledning: Ryssland i toppen. Japan i botten.

Written by Tony Harkén on måndag, 13 februari 2017. Posted in Ryssland, Artiklar om Ryssland, Main 1, Main 5 - 3st

Undersökningen omfattar över 5500 beslutsfattare i 36 länder. I Ryssland består nästan hälften av företagsledningarna (45 %) av kvinnor. Motsvarande siffra i Japan är endast sju procent.

Ryssland i topp

Sakta framåt i Sverige
