Tax free sales grow by 24% in Finland

The value of tax free sales in Finland increased by 24% in June compared to the same month one year ago, according to statistics compiled by Global Blue.

Total tax free sales in Finland reached almost EUR 20 million in June. 

Russian visitors accounted for the vast majority of tax free sales in Finland, amounting to about EUR 15 million from the total. Chinese visitors comprised the second largest group with EUR 2.3 million. This was almost double the figure from June 2011.

Most of the tax free purchases are made in the cities of Helsinki and Lappeeranta. The most popular tax free products are clothes and daily consumer goods.

Tax free goods can be purchased in Finland by people residing outside the European Union.
