Global industrial company ABB has chosen Finland as the key development location for digitalization, reports Finnish tech newspaper Tekniikka & Talous.
In the eyes of the global companies, Finland is a hotbed for digitalization. One of the most concrete examples is ABB. The company is investing heavily in R&D in Finland.
“Finland is the leader in the fourth industrial revolution; digitalization,” underlines Pekka Tiitinen, CEO at ABB Finland.
Numbers do support the official statement. For example, At ABB Finland, every sixth employee works in R&D. Moreover, the company spends annually around 130 million euros in R&D through their Finnish operations.
“In Finland, a true understanding of improving life through digitalization has created plenty of outstanding products and services. Due to a structural change in the Finnish ICT sector, there is now a unique opportunity to engage with top talent,” says Sari Toivonen, Senior Consultant, Invest in Finland. “ABB's latest news on choosing Finland as one of the key locations for digital development is a strong proof point of this.”
