In total we are more than 200 people big team, from which over 50 experts working with foreign companies.
"We arrange contacts. But, when it comes to investments we also provide guidance in various legal and administrative issues," says Guntis Rubins, Manager of the agency's office in Sweden.
This is done in close collaboration with different partners in Latvia, the Swedish Trade Council and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Riga - both are the hub for the approximately 600 Swedish companies operating in Latvia.
"We arrange individual visits for Swedish companies and provide information on the business climate and the opportunities there," says Guntis Rubins.
Until 2013, companies registered in Latvia can apply for a programms distributing over 1 billion Euros in EU support.
"This is administrated by ouragency and the money is earmarked for purposes such as marketing, education of  labour force, the development and manufacturing new products and technologies," says Guntis Rubins.
The business climate in Latvia isattractive: corporate tax is 15 percent; there are special economic zones with great tax reliefs in Liepaja, Ventspils, Riga and Rezekne and foreign companies have the right to freely purchase land and property, labour force costs is still very competitive.

To improve our services at the beginning of 2009 we will open new Representative Office website for Swedish companies where they will be able to find comprehensive information on doing business in or with Latvia.
